The new benchmark

The Friedrichsplatz underground parking garage is centrally located in the documenta city of Kassel: it is directly connected to the pedestrian zone, the Königs-Galerie and the State Theater. Due to its ideal location, the parking garage is very highly frequented. Intensive use in recent years necessitated a fundamental overhaul. The client's representative and the planner specified a high-quality, durable system solution. Sampling areas provided practical insights over a period of two years. The choice then fell clearly on the WestWood^® Wecryl surface protection system OS 10 - 2.0 based on PMMA. This makes it possible to apply the mainly effective surface protection layer (hwO) without a full-surface fabric insert. This increases the reliability of the design and achieves a significantly higher area performance: Material consumption can be reduced by approx. 10 %.
